2020年，老牌真人秀《幸存者》迎来第40季的播出。CBS特邀20位前冠军参加本季比赛以庆祝这一盛事。除了参赛阵容空前强大之外，本季的冠军奖金也将翻倍至200万美元。

　　继《幸存者：卡加延》之后，再次以“体力v智力v美丽”为主题的一季，比赛地点是柬埔寨的瓜隆岛(Koh Rong)。

　　本季将重新采取Survivor:Vanuatu的男女分组，两个部落的名字分别为Salani(女)和Manono(男)，但将首次将两个部落放置于同一营地。
